Tomba!
PlayStation · 2026
This is where PSXRecomp began, and it shows: reasonably playable, with a warp debug menu, FMV skipping, and experimental widescreen.
Every framework has a first game. For PSXRecomp, it was Tomba!, and the two have grown up together: three weeks to reach the main menu, and now a reasonably playable recompilation at v0.12.0-alpha. Among its testers is a world-record-holding speedrunner.
What works today
BIOS boot, disc detection, FMV playback, memory-card save and load, controller input, and gameplay. The save states and rewind architecture was first shown publicly on this title.
Enhancements
A warp debug menu, FMV skipping with auto-skip for the intro, and experimental 16:9 widescreen with a genuinely wider field of view. The project notes 21:9 is not ready.
The project does not distribute any game data; it builds from your own legally dumped disc image.
