Donkey Kong Country 2 is the newest SNESRecomp title, and the first that is community work hosted by the core team: contributor Nicktendonick does the game work in a core-hosted repository. The first release is v0.0.1 (2026-07-20). Very early alpha, and it says so on the label.
What works today
The initial release exists and the bring-up is underway. Expectations should match the v0.0.1 version number.
Enhancements
Experimental 16:9 widescreen, backed by an automated route auditor that checks the game's paths for widescreen-related breakage.
No game data is distributed; the project builds from your own legally dumped ROM.
